Clean data

Find cleaned files

Learn where cleaning results are saved, how to track source files, and how to manage backup files.

Cleaning updates the active data table source file. Cleaned data is still saved in the original file, but History records version history.

If you need to keep a before-and-after comparison, ensure you viewed the original version in History before running.

Output location

The cleaned data table is saved at the original file location. The source file is updated, not replaced with a new file.

If you need a separate cleaned copy, export the data table before running.

Track source files

IMD tracks source files through the project folder. Ensure the project folder has not been moved or renamed.

If the source file path changes, IMD may show a file missing alert.

Backup files

The History tab records each pre-cleaning data table version. You can view earlier versions in History or restore them to the data table.

If you need backups outside IMD, use the file manager to copy the project folder to another location.
