Cannot import data
Learn about file formats, file size, and encoding issues.
If you cannot import data, first confirm the file format is supported and the file is not corrupted.
CSV and Excel are the most commonly supported formats. If the format is correct but import still fails, it may be a file size or encoding issue.
File format
IMD supports table formats like CSV and Excel (.xlsx, .xls). If the file is another format, try exporting as CSV.
If the file format is not supported, IMD displays a format error.
File size
Very large files may take longer to import or exceed IMD's processing capacity.
If a file is too large, try splitting it into multiple smaller files before importing.
Encoding issues
If a file uses non-standard encoding, IMD may not read it correctly. Try using another tool to convert the file to UTF-8.
Excel files can choose an encoding format when saving.
